TRAVEL

Before you arrive in Santa Fe, please let us know if you need assistance with local  transportation.

The Santa Fe Airport is aproximately 30 minutes from the Plaza.  Local rental cars and taxis are available.  If you prefer,  call ahead and we can arrange to meet you and take you to your lodging accomodations.

If you fly into Albuqurque, you will find all major rental car operations plus regular shuttle service to Santa Fe.  Either way, the drive is about an hour of easy freeway travel.

SIGHT SEEING

Among the many pleasures in the "Land of Enchantment" is touring our mountains, valleys, villages and pueblos.

Here you will find Native American culture carrying on traditions from pre-history.

You will also experience an Hispanic culture that arrived from Spain in the 1500s and proudly lives on today.

Include a day or two in your schedule to travel out of Santa Fe and enjoy more of Northern New Mexico.

WEATHER

A note about visiting and our weather.

The photo to the right was taken from the top of Pecos Baldy looking SE across the Pecos Wilderness.  On a cloudless August day, hiking shorts and a tee shirt are perfect.

This same scene in mid Winter would be an endless view of snow covered mountains.  Appropriate clothing would be Arctic Survival.

Northern New Mexico experiences four distinct seasons.  Coldest weather is from mid December through mid January when nights can dip below zero.  The  warmest month is June when day time temperatures range from mid 80s to mid 90s.  July and August begin to cool a bit with many afternoon thunderstorms.

My favorite time of year is Fall.  From late September through October the days are warm and the evenings are refreshingly crisp.  The days are perfect hiking weather with the trees turning color and the evenings bring the aroma of Pinon scented fireplaces.

The best part of our weather is 300+ days of SUNSHINE every year!
